Buckman Botanical Brewery

Buckman is a botanical brewery in Portland, Oregon. While many craft beers are characterized by their malt and hop character, Buckmans beers feature tea, chamomile, ginger, and other herbs and spices.

The brewery is located inside the Green Dragon (named as one of America's top beer bars by Esquire magazine), and shares space with the Oregon Brew Crew's one barrel brewsystem and Integrity Spirits. It is the only place in the country where you can drink and see two breweries and a distillery.

Meet the Brewer

Head brewer Todd Beach came to Portland ten years ago to pursue his craft brewing dreams. In 2009 Beach inaugurated the nano brewsystem inside of the Green Dragon. The Green Dragon nano brewsystem provides a place for homebrewers to brew one barrel batches, which are then featured on one of The Green Dragon’s sixty two taps. Todd honed his brewing skill on the nano brewsystem while the 15bbl Buckman Brewery was being built in the same location.

In 2011, Beach took the short walk from the 1bbl system to the 15bbl Buckman Botanical Brewery. Beach continues the tradition of botanical brewing at Buckman.
