Position Overview:

 

The Delivery Driver works under the direction of the Delivery Manager and is responsible for delivering and merchandising orders for both on and off premises accounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: the delivery of products to retailers, collection of all payments, picking up and returning pallets; rotating products; communicating with supervisors, sales reps and merchandising resources; maintaining sales and merchandising standards; maintain vehicle inspection reports.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

* Deliver and merchandise orders for Off- and/or On-Premise accounts.

* Timely collection of all due money.

* Pick up and return all Maletis empty pallets and cooperage during the normal scope of the business day.

* Maintain superior customer service with all accounts assigned to deliver.

* Maintain proper rotation of products to insure product quality as per the company policy (shelf, display, back stock, and any other storage areas).

* Maintain proper communication with supervisors and sales representatives to market changes, problems, opportunities, out of stocks and competitive activity.

* Maintain proper communication with merchandising resources that support his or her delivery efforts.

* Maintain all sales and merchandising standards as communicated by management.

* Maintain company vehicle inspection reports as required, and report any problems with vehicle daily.

* Maintain a clean and safe environment in the cab of the company vehicle.

* Correct all invoices that are over or short payment in a timely manner.

Working Conditions:

 

This job operates in an indoor and outdoor environment. This role routinely uses handheld computers, printers, GPS systems, box knives, hand trucks, pallet jacks and liftgates.

This is a full-time position. Work schedule varies based on type of route and seasonality.

 

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

 

* Substantial and repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

* Lifting or raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.

* Exerting up to 160 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly, to move objects.

* Having visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

* Valid Oregon driver’s license and an excellent driving. (Motor Vehicle Report will be reviewed).

* Must have a CDL permit or Class A or B CDL.

* Working knowledge of handheld hardware.

* Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

* Ability to lift up to 160 lbs. of product repetitively.

* Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis .

* Past job performance must reflect dependability, initiative, professional demeanor and the ability to exercise sound judgment.

* Excellent customer service and time management skills.

 

PREFERRED:

 

* Familiarity with the beverage distribution industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MAINTAIN SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH ALL ACCOUNTS ASSIGNED TO MERCHANDISE.
  • MAINTAIN PROPER ROTATION OF PRODUCTS TO INSURE PRODUCT QUALITY AS PER THE COMPANY POLICY. (SHELF, DISPLAY, BACKSTOCK, AND ANY OTHER STORAGE AREAS.)
  • COMPLETELY FILL ALL PRODUCTS AND PACKAGES DISTRIBUTED BY MALETIS BEVERAGE IN ALL AREAS THROUGHOUT ACCOUNTS.
  • MAINTAIN PROPER COMMUNICATION WITH SUPERVISORS AND SALES REP. AS TO MARKET CHANGES, PROBLEMS, OPPORTUNITIES, OUT OF STOCKS AND COMPETITIVE ACTIVITY.
  • MAINTAIN ALL SALES AND MERCHANDISING STANDARDS AS COMMUNICATED BY MANAGEMENT.
  • MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT IN VEHICLE USED FOR MERCHANDISING PURPOSES.
  • CLOCK IN AND OUT USING COMPANY PHONE TO RECORD PAYROLL TIMES.
  • CHECK IN WHEN REPORTING TO WORK AND OUT PRIOR TO GOING HOME DAILY WITH MERCHANDISING MANAGER.
  • START ALL ASSIGNED SHIFTS BY 6AM UNLESS A PM SHIFT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED.
  • SERVICE ALL ACCOUNTS ASSIGNED TO ROUTE DAILY, INCLUDING SECOND HITS IF THEY APPLY TO YOUR SPECIFIC ROUTE.
  • HAVE COMPANY PHONE WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. PERSONAL PHONES ARE NOT TO BE USED DURING WORK HOURS.
  • ARRIVE TO WORK IN COMPANY ISSUED UNIFORM.

This is a very physically strenuous position requiring  the ability to lift 25 to 45 pounds constantly and occasionally lifting up to 180 pounds
