With such a rich history in the area, we at Maletis Beverage understand the importance of giving back to the communities that have given us so much. That is why we strive to continue to strengthen our presence in the service organizations around us. Our employees and partners have given their time and resources to many organizations and we want to share with you some of these incredible citizens and their volunteerism! Bob Lauron

Bob Lauron is relatively new to Maletis Beverage with three years under his belt, but he is extremely well-versed in the beverage industry — he comes from a background in wine, tea, craft beer, distributing, and more. His expertise continues to help Maletis strengthen and grow as an organization, and his commitment to our community is a true inspiration. Bob and his wife have been donating their time to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for years, and in the past year he earned a position on the Oregon Food Bank Board of Directors. Here he donates his time to strengthening the cause of feeding hungry families and individuals across Oregon. But Bob doesn’t stop there! In addition to his position on the Board, he sits on the Fund Development Committee and is Co-Chairman of the Harvest Dinner Committee. Most recently, Bob helped the Harvest Dinner raise more than $760,000 for the organization! Although we may be a bit biased, there is no question that Bob has exemplified the selflessness, compassion, and drive needed in the fight against hunger in Oregon, and his efforts continue to make us proud. So thank you, Bob, for all the work you do in our community and congratulations on your achievements in making a difference! Shelter for Orenco Station

Although Pacific Northwest summers are picturesque at worst, it is no secret that the winters can be rough. During these frigid months so many of us can turn toward our thermostat for comfort, but many people in our community don’t have that luxury. Maletis Beverage has been a proud supporter of the Shelter at Orenco Station’s efforts to clothe, feed, and house those who are homeless or low income for three consecutive years. S.O.S. partners with local churches in the area during the months of December, January, and February and provides meals, clothing, and shelter for 90 consecutive days at rotating locations. Our organization’s contribution comes in the form of donating new or gently used clothing. In the three years of participation between 2013 and 2015, Maletis Beverage employees donated 439 shirts, 223 coats, 28 pairs shoes and much more to reach a total of more than 1,100 articles of clothing! Although we are proud of our contribution to the community, we know that the need for donations continues. Help us spread the word about this organization in Washington County and visit the S.O.S. website to find out how you can help make a difference for homeless and low-income families.

Ninkasi Funds for Firefighters

Since 2015, Maletis has been a proud partner of Ninkasi’s Funds for Firefighters, a program that raises money for Firefighter Associations in the area. In the month of September, $5 of every keg sold in Portland, Salem, and Vancouver is donated to Portland Firefighters Association IAFF Local 43, Salem Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 315, and Vancouver Firefighters IAFF Local 452. This year, a portion of the money raised went toward Firefighters for Operation Warm, a nationwide campaign that provides winter coats to children whose families cannot afford them. With the help of Local 43 Union, last year’s record in the area was beat with nearly 600 brand new coats purchased! This November, children will be able to pick out a coat and meet the firefighters, brewers, and distributors that helped make this possible. Thank you to the firefighters who serve and make this incredible program a reality, congratulations to Ninkasi and their efforts to provide warmth to children in need, and thank you to everyone who helped us participate in a cause that is positively affecting the lives of our youth. Here’s to many years of success to come!
